Tammie K. Ross

Registered Social Worker in London, ON

Tammie delved into the world of personal growth at an age where most teenagers are simply trying to fit in.  At 15, she left home for three months to live as a French Exchange student…and so began her foray into foreign cultures.  Today, she continues her love of languages by upgrading her French studies.

Overcoming adversity is a way of life for Tammie. She has faced her own issues head on and not only survived but thrived as she re-claimed her independence following the breakup of her marriage, ensuring her children grow in a well-adjusted and positive atmosphere. After 13 years of being single, she met the man who later became her husband. She understands the necessity of ongoing communication, connection, and intimacy in a relationship. In order to overcome disagreements, she and her husband use the same tools she teaches her couples. They also recognize the value of laughter.

Tammie is passionate about helping women and in 2009 created a non-profit coaching program where clients were partnered with coaches around the world.  Today, she continues her women’s advocacy work by volunteering for the CFUW (Canadian Federation of University Women). There, she assists with their mission of stimulating interest in social advocacy, high standards of public education and encourage international cooperation among women.

Her own experiences have proven that counselling is not for the weak at heart. It can be daunting work to look at your life and relationships honestly and then be willing to take that first step into uncertainty. By using her innate sense of intuition and common sense, she helps others dig deep to clarify root issues and develop mastery skills to maximize their potential. Really, the clients become their own best resource.

Tammie believes that individual and couples counselling are about forming a powerful alliance where clients are inspired to learn about their true self, realize their potential, and become fulfilled.  Using the strength and confidence gained from her own life experiences, Tammie continues to help others overcome a multitude of life challenges.
